Mood Disorders
Do you feel like you have a difficult time controlling your mood? Does it seem like your feelings are very intense when compared to what others experience? Do you experience extreme ups and downs in your mood? Are these feelings interfering with relationships, work or school?
Common symptoms of a mood disorder:
- Ongoing sad, anxious, or “empty” mood
- Feeling hopeless or helpless
- Having low self-esteem or very high self-esteem
- Feeling inadequate or worthless
- Excessive guilt
- Relationship problems
- Sleeping too much or too little
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Decreased energy or a significant increase in energy
- Irritability, hostility or aggression
- High sensitivity to failure or rejection
- Racing thoughts, talking a lot and fast
- Poor judgement
Mood Disorders include depression and bipolar disorder. In therapy we work together so you can learn to change distorted views you may have of yourself and your environment and help improve relationships. You also learn to identify stressors and learn to manage them.
